Me Ewart acts as an accredited arbitrator under the aegis of the Canadian Commercial Arbitration Centre (CCAC) and of Soreconi (Société pour la résolution des conflits inc.) in international arbitration and Canadian commercial arbitrations, securities matters under the IIROC (Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada) and construction matters under the governemental arbitration program governed by the Building Act (Quebec).

In addition to his arbitration practice, Mr. Ewart has an extensive international experience and is also a business executive and owner and uses this expertise as arbitrator .

Mr. Ewart is since 1999 the Chairman and CEO of The Ensign Group Inc., a privately funded Canadian-controlled corporation with investments and advisory activities in Canada and Europe, primarily in the manufacturing, real estate, construction and resort development sectors.

In 2010, Mr. Ewart co-founded Evotion Sports Inc, Evolution & Emotion!, an International Athlete management & marketing agency.

Mr Ewart is since 2004 the President of Revere Realties Co. Ltd (and a member of the Board since 1982), a Canadian corporation involved in land assembly for residential purposes.

Mr. Ewart was from 2004 to 2006 Chairman of Gabel S.r.l., an Italian sport equipment manufacturer and from 2008 to 2011, President & CEO of Gabel Sports Group [North America] Inc., a sports products distribution company, primarily active in the ski and wellness industries.

Prior to April 1999, Mr. Ewart was Senior Partner of the international law firm Stikeman, Elliott (1981-99), with a corporate and commercial practice focused primarily in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, privatization, securities and corporate finance. Mr. Ewart has acted as lead counsel to various governments and international strategic investors in several fields including banking, real estate, hospitality, infrastructures, telecommunications, energy and natural resources, media, and general industry.

As Managing Partner, Central and Eastern Europe from 1992 to 1998, Mr. Ewart established Stikeman, Elliott’s presence in the region which resulted, amongst others, in Privatization International ranking Stikeman, Elliott in 1995 as 3rd in the world by volume of privatization transactions undertaken in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union as well as having Mr. Ewart recognized in 1996 by the International Financial Law Review as one of the world’s leading privatization lawyers.

From 1982-84, Mr Ewart was President of each of Société Pole-Lite Ltée (Canada) and Pole Lite Industries Inc. (U.S.); the Pole-Lite Group operated manufacturing plants in Canada and the United States with offices in Montreal, Toronto and New York, specializing in aluminium and steel products.
