In June 2005 she established and became Head of Chambers, making legal history by being the first and youngest black woman to set up Chambers in the prestigious Middle Temple. She has maintained high standards with a progressive approach to the Bar and Chambers, making her a highly regarded practitioner amongst her instructing solicitors, barristers and clients.

PracticeLady Tetteh is known for her ability to take on complex points of law and has a wide range of practise areas.

Common Law
She undertakes a diverse range cases, with an emphasis on Commercial/Corporate Law, Criminal (defence), Human Rights and Employment law.

Commercial Law
Lady Tetteh also has an international practice, having been called to the Ghanaian Bar in October 2003 and setting up Chambers in Ghana in January 2006. She has dealt with various financial disputes and is capable of advising on and undertaking instructions in relation to a broad range of international Commercial Disputes.

Direct Access

This means in certain areas of her practice, she can receive instructions without the need for the client to seek a Solicitor prior to instructing her. Please call her Clerk if you have any further questions.

Chambers & the CommunityWith her background and continuing work within the British Ghanaian and African community has underpinned her interest in human rights, civil liberties, equality and other such causes.

Since Chambers of G. D. Tetteh was established, Lady Tetteh has offered members of the British and Ghanaian/ African community the opportunity of obtaining an insight into the Bar and gaining legal experience.

She carries out mentoring work with a variety of young people ranging from primary school children to law students and budding barristers and solicitors. She has made mini pupillages available for individuals who with encouragement have followed a similar path to the Bar or have completed the Legal Practice Course.

Lady Tetteh is heavily involved with Community Projects and utilizes her legal skills and experience in providing advice and instruction on matters of law and practice. She currently works frequently as a key speaker at lectures and workshops organized across London by a prominent Local authority figure (in Tower Hamlets) on African Children and families.
